A beauty. Aromas and flavors of currant, cassis, cherry, black tea and sweet oak. Hint of cedar. Round mouth-feel. Lingering finish.
 
Alexander Valley

2004 Alexander Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($20)
A juicy cab, with a round texture. Aromas and flavors of tart cherry fruit. Dry and slightly tannic.
 
Cain Vineyard & Winery

2003 Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($54)
An earthy, toasty cab. Aromas and flavors of black currant, milk chocolate, mushroom and cigar box. Dusty tannins.
 
Franciscan Oakville Estate

2003 Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($28)
Toasty aromas, with notes of violet and blueberry. Flavors of cherry, plum, spice and oak. Nice lingering finish.

2003 Rutherford - Cabernet Sauvignon ($45)
An elegant cab, with ripe plum and toasty oak flavors. Slightly earthy, with a note of mushroom.

2003 Reserve, Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($35)
A mouth-filling, ultra-rich cab. Chocolate and cherry aromas. Bright, high-toned cherry and plum fruit. Good acid.

2003 Monte Rosso, Sonoma Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($50)
A big, rich, complex cab. Black cherry and raspberry fruit flavors. Notes of currant, cocoa and clove.

2004 Alexander Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($30)
A complex cab, with prominant oak. Flavors of cherry, cassis, cedar, vanilla and chocolate. Cellar for a couple of years.
 
Silverado Vineyards

2003 Stage Leap District, Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon ($78)
A good food wine. Aromas and flavors of strawberry jam, with hints of licorice and olive. Slightly short finish.
 
St. Francis

2003 Sonoma County - Cabernet Sauvignon ($20)
A big boy cab, with toasty oak. Aromas and flavors of red plum, coconut, dill, menthol and eucalyptus..
